When Northwestern University began a two-year renovation and expansion of Ryan Field last spring, they faced a pressing challenge: where would their football team play in the interim? They needed a fully functional, high-quality venue that could host games, accommodate fans, and preserve the energy of college football Saturdays.
In just 66 days, we delivered the solution — a 12,000-seat temporary stadium built on a stunning lakefront site along Lake Michigan. The design included a mix of bleacher seating and enclosed box seats, plus VIP suites and full infrastructure to ensure comfort and accessibility.

Now serving as Northwestern’s home field throughout the Ryan Field reconstruction (2024–2026), the stadium continues to draw fans with its unique location and premium feel. High demand for tickets has underscored its success, proving that a temporary build can deliver both scale and atmosphere without compromise.
As the 2025 season kicks off this Friday, we’re revisiting this project as a powerful example of what modular infrastructure can achieve under tight timelines — and how it continues to perform season after season. Good luck to the entire team on a great season.
